Chocolate Play-doh

February 13, 2014

Valentine's Day is tomorrow!

Surprise your students with a fun new center or a special gift that smells just like amazing chocolate!

Chocolate Play-doh is super easy to make and your kids will love it!

2 cups of boiling water

1 cup salt

1/2 cup cocoa powder

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 tbsp cream of tartar

2 cups all purpose flour

Bring the water and salt to a boil. Dissolve the salt into the water then mix in the other dry ingredients. Stir constantly until it forms a dough.

Allow it to cool. Kneed it until it reaches the desired consistency.

Play ideas:

  • Give your students a cookie sheet. Use cookie cutters to make heart shaped "cookies" out of the play dough.

  • Give your students a clean empty candy chocolates container. Show them how to form pretend chocolates and place them in the container. This is always a hit!

Remind your students that the play dough smells awesome, but isn't for eating.
